J. Olea Crafts

Hello, I'm Jennifer

I have always been a crafter, before our son was born, 20 plus years ago, I worked as an Office Manager at Hobby Lobby.  I saw the paper craft aisle grow from a 16 foot section to 2 full aisles. My scrapbooking obsession begin.

A couple years later, I found Stampin’ Up! A friend of mine gathered a bunch of us together to make cards for our spouses who were deployed overseas.

I fell in love with the amazing cardstock that Stampin’ Up! has plus the color coordination.  I Signed up to be a demonstrator, just for the discount, in 2010. I didn’t own a single stamp or ink, that all came a little later.

Our family moved to Okinawa, Japan, where a friend saw some of my cards, asked me to teach her how to make them, she invited a few friends and well my first class happened, the ladies had fun and asked for another one. My Stampin’ Up business was born.

A couple of moves later and we are now in sunny Yuma, Arizona, where I love spending time in my Crafting Casita creating fun projects, talking all things Stampin’ Up! at craft fairs and gathering people around a table or online to teach and inspire some Paper Crafting Fun!

I love being part of the Stampin’ Up community, I enjoy creating with and building my team the Blessed Crafters.

A little more about me

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I have learned a few things about myself having lived in some beautiful places, thanks to hubby being in the Marine Corps., I don’t do well in humidity.  When we got stationed in Yuma, we truly fell in love with the climate and the landscape.  Now, I wouldn’t mind a little bit of land in the mountains with a comfy cozy cabin.  But I have found where I want to live, right here in Yuma.

What did you want to be when you where small?

I always thought I would be a teacher when I was growing up.  So I thought I would be in a classroom filled with 20 plus kids.  Turns out that I love the teaching, but twenty kids is terrifying.  So when I have a card class, and am teaching a technique, or chatting with all my friends as we are stamping and creating some cards.  I think about how I really am a teacher at heart it just looks different then what I thought it would.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

This one is easy, Tacos.  Breakfast tacos, chicken tacos, steak tacos, veggie tacos,

When our son was little and the hubby was deployed, our son and I ate tacos a lot.  Super easy and I always have the stuff you need to make one in the fridge.

What are your hobbies?

So besides being a Paper Crafting, Stamping nerd. The hubby and I also love doing DIY projects.  We have made many corn hole boards, bar tops and other wood working projects.  I do also love being outside, hiking is one thing we love to do.  My biggest hike has been hiking the Rim to Rim, which is going down in to the Grand Canyon and hiking back up the other side.
